Community Programs
Prevention, connection, and recovery beyond the campus.
Healing doesn't start at residential admission, and it doesn't end at discharge. HNP's community programs wrap around youth at every point of vulnerability: in schools, in the community, and through dedicated mentorship relationships.
01
Starfish Mentoring Program
The Starfish Mentoring Program creates healthy, consistent connections between youth and caring adult mentors. Through structured mentorship, participants develop the self-efficacy, trust, and tools they need to make empowered choices, and to recognize and resist exploitation.
The program prioritizes social reintegration, reducing re-victimization risk, and building the relational foundations that are often fractured by trafficking and abuse.
Mentorship & Reintegration
02
Hōkū Group Services
Hōkū ("star" in Hawaiian) provides weekly group sessions that give at-risk youth and trafficking survivors a safe, consistent space to process trauma, build resilience, and connect with peers who understand their experiences.
Operating across facilities on O'ahu and Hawaiʻi Island, Hōkū maintains continuity of care for youth across settings, from community programs to residential treatment and back into daily life.
Group Therapy & Peer Support
03
Education Services
HNP's education program delivers customized training, in-class presentations, and professional development for schools, agencies, and community organizations across Hawaiʻi. Sessions are tailored to the audience, from youth in classrooms to professionals on the front lines.
Training topics include online safety, recognizing exploitation, trauma-responsive practices, and the realities of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in Hawaiʻi’s unique context.

Coconut Wireless - P.E.E.R.
Coconut Wireless is HNP's Prevention Education, Empowerment & Resilience curriculum. Designed to be trauma-responsive and youth-centered, it separates fact from myth about trafficking in Hawaiʻi while equipping young people with real strategies for recognition, refusal, and resilience.
The curriculum reflects Hawaiʻi’s distinct social landscape and the specific vulnerabilities that put local youth at elevated risk. It is built to empower, not frighten. To equip, not overwhelm.

Stories
Voices of restoration.
These stories belong to the young people who lived them. They are shared with permission, kept anonymous, and offered as a window into what healing looks like when it is met with the right care at the right time.
